James Williams, a partner with Gauthier, Houghtaling & Williams, getting sworn in as Judge Pro Tempore.

James Williams, a partner with Gauthier, Houghtaling & Williams, has been appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve as Judge, filling the vacancy of Judge Nadine Ramsey in Division "J" of Orleans Parish Civil District Court.  At 35 years of age, Williams is the youngest judge in the state of Louisiana. He will serve until a new judge is elected to fill the seat.  Nadine Ramsey resigned to run her campaign for Mayor of New Orleans.

Judge Williams has an  impressive resume of service which includes as law clerk to Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Bernette Johnson and collaboration with United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of a scholarly publication entitled "Civility."  He has also been recognized for his litigation prowess by being inducted into the City Business Magazine "Hall of Fame" and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
