GHW hopes to encourage young high school students at St. Augustine in New Orleans to follow in the footsteps of Charles R. Jones, the first African-American male to ascend to Chief Judge of the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. GHW funded the "2012 Chief Judge Charles R. Jones Scholarship" to be awarded to a deserving St. Augustine student.
The late Wendell Gauthier’s fight to expose Big Tobacco’s coverup of the addictive properties of nicotine is a significant part of the story of Addiction Incorporated, a docudrama about Victor DeNoble a whistleblower and research scientist at a major tobacco company, who revealed a fact that the industry had been denying for years: that cigarettes were addictive.
GHW attorneys John Houghtaling, James Williams and Celeste Gauthier were inducted into Loyola University’s Society of St. Ignatius.
Attorneys Sean Greenwood and Pat McGinnis were named to H Texas Magazine's list of Top Professionals in Houston.
GHW partner James Williams participated in a roundtable discussion entitled, "Closing the Wealth Gap: Utilizing Minority Owned Businesses as Vehicles for Job Creation and Economic Recovery," on Capitol Hill on September 22, 2011.

NOBA congratulates Gauthier, Houghtaling & Williams, L.L.P. They participated in our Pacesetter Campaign and successfully recruited the most newly-enrolled and renewed members. A special note of appreciation goes to Gauthier Houghtaling & Williams, L.L.P. for having 100% of their firm signed up as members of the New Orleans Bar Association.

NOBA's PACESETTER CAMPAIGN WINNER

The firm has represented hundreds of individuals and businesses that sustained losses during Hurricanes Katrina, Ike and Gustav. Gauthier attorneys have also represented owners of many commercial businesses, including a Class A high-rise building, in a property damage settlement with a commercial insurance carrier. The firm also won a major jury verdict for owners of a St. Bernard retail center that was damaged during Katrina. In November 2008, James Williams and Stephen Huber successfully tried a jury trial in Palm Beach, Florida involving a business dispute on behalf of a closely-held insurance agency doing business in Puerto Rico.

The firm's mock trial facilities have been an invaluable tool for litigation success. Developed by Wendell Gauthier, the firm's attorneys test their litigation strategies in a mock courtroom using a mock jury. The clients and experts testify before the mock jury while actors are hired to play adverse witnesses.

Gauthier, Houghtaling and Williams is also proud of its commitment to the community. For example, Attorney Inemesit U. O'Boyle serves as president of the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society and Partner James Williams is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Bar Association. The firm also donates to a wide variety of causes such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Good Shepherd School.
