The late Wendell Gauthier’s fight to expose Big Tobacco’s coverup of the addictive properties of nicotine is a significant part of the story of Addiction Incorporated, a docudrama about Victor DeNoble a whistleblower and research scientist at a major tobacco company, who revealed a fact that the industry had been denying for years: that cigarettes were addictive.

The memory of Wendell Gauthier lives on at his alma mater, Loyola College of Law and at Tulane University Law School.

At Loyola College of Law, the firm joined with the Gauthier family to establish a four-story, 17,000 sq. ft. wing to provide state-of-the-art facilities for law students, including seminar rooms, a lecture theater, additional offices, and additional parking.

At Tulane Law School, the Gauthier family endowed an annual law lecture in the memory of Wendell. Past speakers have included noted attorneys such as David Boies, and NYU Law Professor Arthur Miller.
