GHW hopes to encourage young high school students at St. Augustine in New Orleans to follow in the footsteps of Charles R. Jones, the first African-American male to ascend to Chief Judge of the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. GHW funded the "2012 Chief Judge Charles R. Jones Scholarship" to be awarded to a deserving St. Augustine student.
The late Wendell Gauthier’s fight to expose Big Tobacco’s coverup of the addictive properties of nicotine is a significant part of the story of Addiction Incorporated, a docudrama about Victor DeNoble a whistleblower and research scientist at a major tobacco company, who revealed a fact that the industry had been denying for years: that cigarettes were addictive.

Charles G. Jouandot

As the firm's chief financial officer, Charles G. Jouandot has played an integral role in the growth of Gauthier, Houghtaling and Williams. Mr. Jouandot has been with firm for more than twenty years and during that time has managed the finances of the firm including multi-million dollar trust accounts. He is regularly consulted by the legal industry on matters of strategic planning and financial management. Mr. Jouandot has particular expertise in the field of financial and technical assistance to public entities, having secured numerous grants for public entities.

Mr. Jouandot came to the Gauthier firm from Banker's Trust of Louisiana where he was president and a director of the $150 million financial institution. Prior to that, he was an executive vice president and senior loan officer at Jefferson Guaranty Bank where he managed a commercial loan portfolio totaling $340 million.

He is a member of the board of the YMCA and is member of the Harahan Rotary Club and Industrial Association, the American Cancer Society, United Way, Jefferson Parish Economic Development Board and Kenner Cares, Inc.

He obtained his bachelor of science degree from the University of New Orleans.
